FAQ

What are the distances for each segment of the race?

Swim: 1.5 K | 500M
Bike: 40K | 20K
Run: 10K | 5K

How do I register?

Register early as we expect to reach maximum capacity. Registration closes one month prior to race weekend. No mail in registrations will be accepted.

What is the cost for entry?

Cost for entry depends primarily on when you sign up. See the 2022 Registration Structure for more information.

I can’t race, can I get a refund?

No refunds, no exceptions. For deferrals, contact info@runpensacola.com BEFORE April 30, 2022.There will be a Deferral Fee of $20.

Do I need a photo I.D. to pick up my packet?

Yes. You will need a government issued I.D.

I know someone who cannot race, can I use their number?

NO! You will be banned from participation at all USAT-sanctioned events.

Do I need a USAT license to participate?

Yes. All individuals must furnish proof of current USAT membership or you will be required to purchase a one-day USAT license ($15) at athlete check-in. You will have the opportunity to purachase an annual USAT membership ($50) at athlete check in.

Can I have someone else pick up my packet for me?

No. You must pick up your own packet or you will not be allowed to race. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must be at athlete check-in before close at 5pm on Saturday, June 4th.

When do I check in my bike?

Race morning from 4:45-5:45am for all athletes

What time does transition open on race morning?

4:45-6:00am for all International and Sprint athletes

What time will transition re-open to allow athletes to collect their bikes and belongings?

At 10:30am, we will gradually allow athletes back into transition in small numbers by Age Group. We do reserve the right to keep transition closed until the last cyclist comes in at 9:45am. Book your travel arrangements accordingly. We will not change this policy to accommodate flights, hotel check out, etc. ****If allowed into transition early, and you interfere with a competitor still racing, you will be DQ’d.

My registration information is wrong, what can I do?

You must e-mail info@runpensacola.com by May 5th in order to have your registration information corrected. If after May 5th, you must report to the solutions table at athlete check-in to make corrections.

What if I am a minor competeing in the Triathon?

You MUST be accompanied by a parent to have them sign the physical waivers on your behalf

Where do I pick up my timing chip?

Chip pick up will be race morning

What can I do if I lost my chip or left it in the hotel room?

Option 1: If left in the hotel, go back and get it. Option 2: Spare chips will be located at the swim start.

Are recumbent bikes allowed?

No.

Are wetsuits allowed?

We are going by USAT rules- USAT rules state that competitors may wear wetsuits if the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower. USAT rules also state that if the water temperature is between 78.1 – 83.9 degrees, competitors may wear wetsuits but will not be eligible for awards.

What if I don’t make the cut off time?

Any athlete that misses the cut off time will be considered DNF (Did Not Finish).

What time do the awards start?

Awards will be available throughout the race as results are posted and verified.
